I woke up early today, excited for our snorkeling trip after yesterday’s amazing experience. We had heard that Church Bay was one of the best snorkeling spots in all of Bermuda, and I couldn’t wait to explore it.
The day started beautifully. I watched the sunrise—one of my favorite things to do at beach destinations—followed by a peaceful morning walk along the shore. After breakfast, we hopped on a minibus from the port to Church Bay.
Just as we reached the beach, it started to rain! Thankfully, the natural rock formations gave us cover. The rain only lasted about 5–7 minutes, and we watched a dark cloud pass right over us and drift away. The beach was nearly empty—just 5 to 8 people. One couple mentioned they had seen a lot of fish while snorkeling, which got us even more excited.
So excited for this snorkelling date! All set up to enjoy it!
We geared up and walked into the ocean, but the water was rough and choppy. Waves kept pushing us out, making it hard to even stand or stay balanced. At first, we were disappointed, thinking we might have to skip snorkeling altogether.
But then we noticed fish just near the shore. We struck up a conversation with another couple, and the man showed us incredible footage from his underwater camera. He encouraged us to try entering from the other side of the beach, where the current was easier to manage.
Inspired, we gave it another shot—and this time, it worked! Despite the choppy waves, we were able to put our heads down and start swimming. What we saw was magical: tiny glittering fish dancing in the sunlight, beautiful coral structures, and even a fish perfectly camouflaged to match the surrounding rocks—it was so close I could almost touch it!
We saw shimmering silver fish swimming in groups, followed by striped bumblebee fish, and then came the highlight: a large school of fish—at least 50 of them in various sizes, swimming together in a mesmerizing pattern. And then, the peacock-colored parrotfish appeared—it was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen underwater. That moment alone made the entire Bermuda trip worth it.
Going back and forth in ocean, playing in amazing pink sand we dressed up and took some pictures. It was a great place to take pictures.
After spending a long time snorkeling, we relaxed on the pink sand beach. I even gave myself a pink sand massage—it felt so good and grounding. On our way back, we stopped by a striking stone formation and took some beautiful photos. It was hard to say goodbye to Church Bay.
We returned to the cruise terminal via minibus, took a stroll through the local shops, and picked up some Bermuda rum and fruit bars (which were delicious). We also walked through some of the historic areas, explored the Bermuda National Museum, and admired the Royal Naval Dockyard.
Back on the ship, we showered and went up to watch the final embarkation from Bermuda. It was bittersweet—Bermuda had given us so many unforgettable memories. As the ship pulled away, we were treated to a spectacular view: the island’s coral reefs created pockets of shallow, crystal-clear light blue water that looked absolutely magical from above.
For dinner, we skipped lunch and dined at a lovely restaurant overlooking the ocean. It was peaceful and perfect. I ate fish almost everyday!
While we were snorkeling, the kids had their own fun at a giant water balloon park, and our parents explored the port, making it a joyful day for everyone.
We ended the evening with a crew talent show, put on by the amazing NCL staff. The production was impressive and full of heart. The most touching part was the surprise finale—every crew member, from the captain to the restaurant servers, came on stage to thank us. It was a beautiful gesture and truly moving.
It was a perfect day—adventure, nature, connection, and heartfelt memories. I’m sure we’ll return on another cruise someday, because this one truly set the bar with world-class service.
