We woke up to a bright and beautiful morning — our last one in the cozy glamping dome. It was hard to say goodbye to that magical place surrounded by golden rolling hills, peaceful silence, and nature’s charm. After wrapping up, we decided to make one last stop in Jasper before heading out - Otto’s Café, our new favorite from yesterday.
We enjoyed a delicious avocado toast with a perfect view of Pyramid Mountain, which looked even more stunning that morning. It almost felt like the mountain was calling me back again and again. With some sandwiches packed for the drive and my smoothie in hand, we began our journey down the Icefields Parkway once more.
Our first stop was a beautiful Athabasca waterfall, framed perfectly by the snow-dusted Pyramid Mountain in the background - truly a dream come true. We made another quick stop at yet another waterfall, each one majestic in its own way. The landscape had completely transformed since our drive a couple of days ago. Back then, it was cloudy and rainy; now, every mountain peak wore a fresh coat of snow, glistening under the sun.
One of my favorite moments was at the Glacier Goats viewpoint, overlooking the vivid Blue River with snowy peaks in the background. The scene was so breathtaking I didn’t want to move — it was one of those moments you wish you could freeze in time.
By the afternoon, we reached Lake Louise just in time for a coffee break. The lake was beautiful, with a walkway of big rocks and plenty of seating areas to take in the view. But if I’m being honest, I loved Moraine Lake and Peyto Lake more — their raw, untouched beauty felt more magical. Lake Louise, with its grand hotel in the backdrop, had a more touristy vibe, though still undeniably beautiful.
After soaking in the views, we began our drive back toward Calgary. The scenery changed completely as we left the Rockies — from towering peaks to wide open fields and rolling hills. As we approached the city, the skyline of Calgary nestled among the hills looked stunning in the evening light.
Since we had heard that Calgary has some great Indian food, we couldn’t resist stopping for dinner. The restaurant didn’t disappoint — from hot naan and sabji served on a portable stove to tasty starters, it was exactly what we needed after a long drive.
With happy hearts and full stomachs, we checked into our hotel, which had a spa, hot tub, and pool — a perfect place to unwind. We ended the night relaxed and grateful, ready for our flight the next morning and carrying memories of the Rockies that we’ll cherish forever.
