California - Day 1

This was our very unique amazing trip to California. It was great to hang out with friends for 10 days. It’s totally different world! Even if we were in USA felt like another planet and sometimes it gave a feel of Europe and India!! Trying to pen down most of the memories in this blog!!

Day 1 story!!
We started 5pm on Friday for 7:30 flight but flight was delayed by 2:30hrs so we explored the small airport. It was surprise to see two road brewery tap room which is our favorite beer! We both enjoyed the start of travel.

Mansi, Akhi and Abhinav came to pick us up. Our first ride in Tesla!! It was amazing, felt like sitting in ghost car!LOL

We kept talking till 4 and then went to GOOGLE office to drop the car for charging and GOOGLE quick peek! It was epic dawn :)

We came home and slept till 8 and couldn't stop ourselves to go out for walk. It was so different than Connecticut, it was great to see all the fruit trees in every year. We wanted to drink coffee now and found this Madras Cafe, what a treat. We called all of them to restaurant and had yummy breakfast.

We got real and went to pick up Abhinav from his table tennis. Kids wanted to have boba and Akhi Mansi took us to this awesome boba place where there were tons of flavors, this is true treat for them. We also explored chinese bakeries in that plaza and got some good stuff.

After that we went to Soniya place. They have a cool house with lots of fruit trees. Saw figs in 100s and ate some too. They has persimmon, avocado, guava and orange trees.

Then we headed to Stanford University. It was astonishing to visit this legendary and beautiful university.

We had plan to go to Sybille and Pushpals house so went back and got real to drive there. Shri was driving Tesla first time, it was like race car :)

On the way I stopped at a store to buy wine. The lady in the store was very knowledgeable and gave really nice suggestions. Got really awesome wine for them.
We reached to Alameda and they both were waiting to go out to watch sunset with us. Again new beautiful island and beachside home, it was great.

The walk was pleasant. We came back and ate yummy dinner made by Pushpal and went to bed.

Canadian Rockies - Day 2 - The Dream Day: Larch Valley Hike & Moraine Lake Magic

We started our second day in the Canadian Rockies with our little tradition — a steaming cup of masala tea. There’s nothing like that comforting aroma to kick off an adventurous morning. While sipping our tea, we had a great chat with our wonderful host, Jeremy -  a biker, traveler, and author of two books. He’s been around the world on his bike, and listening to his stories was truly inspiring. After breakfast, it was time for one of the most anticipated parts of our trip - the Larch Valley hike and visiting my dream destination, Moraine Lake! We grabbed some Subway sandwiches from Banff downtown to fuel up later on the trail and then headed toward Moraine Lake by shuttle. We started the hike around 12:30 PM, and wow — it was steep and challenging right from the beginning. But every step upward brought more breathtaking views of Moraine Lake below. The turquoise water kept peeking through the trees as we climbed higher and higher. As we gained elevation, the larches turned gold...

Bermuda Cruising : Day 1 – Sunday: Setting Sail from New York City πŸš’πŸŒ†

The excitement was real as we wrapped up breakfast and left home around 9:30 AM, all packed and ready for our 7-day adventure to Bermuda. As we drove into the city, the first glimpse of our cruise ship took our breath away—it stood tall and majestic on the Hudson River, a true floating city! Check-in was smooth, and by 2 PM, we were officially on board. The sheer size of the ship amazed all of us—18 floors packed with restaurants, shops, a buzzing casino, lively bars, pools, a full amphitheater, a grand theater, and even water slides and a giant rope course towering on the 18th floor! Watching our parents and in-laws marvel at everything around them was heartwarming. For them, this was like stepping into a whole new world—a luxurious hotel on water. The kids were already eyeing the pools and adventure zones, while we were still soaking in the scale of it all. After a delicious lunch at one of the onboard restaurants, we headed up to the open deck for sail-away views of the iconic N...

Canadian Rockies - Day 1 - Waking Up to the Magic of Canmore and the Rockies

After a late-night arrival at around 2 AM, we finally woke up to our first morning in the Canadian Rockies - and what a surprise it was! Since we had reached in the dark, we had no idea what surrounded us. When I stepped out onto the balcony, I was greeted by a breathtaking view - majestic mountains all around, their peaks kissed by the early morning light. It was one of those moments that instantly fills you with gratitude and excitement for the day ahead. We had masala tea, got ready, and decided to explore downtown Canmore. The streets were charming, lined with cozy cafΓ©s, boutiques, and local art shops - all against the stunning mountain backdrop. It felt like stepping into a postcard. For brunch, we stopped at an amazing Indian restaurant called Mumbai Local, and oh my goodness - the food was phenomenal! We ordered dahi puri, soya chaap, and triple schezwan fried rice, and everything was bursting with flavor. It felt like a comforting taste of home right in the middle of the Rocki...
