Our weekends diary

Today was really exciting day! I was going to hike in Yosemite, dream come true!! We started around 7:30 for Vernal Fall. We were stuck ay the first sport where we saw emerald pool, glowing half dome in morning sun and water flowing through big rocks.  We resumed back on the hike, it was super steep and first glimpse of fall was breath taking. Hike was getting difficult and difficult, we had 600+ steps to climb to go up the fall. It was great experience. Abhinav and Jai wanted to stop in between but we convince then to go up. After reaching there, it was again emerald pool with cold water. We relaxed there for while and started our journey back.  We were super hungry by 2pm since we were eating bars and oranges. They had grill, we ate there and food was good. It was time to start for Lake Tahoe. Again the road was very different, beautiful landscapes. We reached Lake Tahoe around 10, was very excited to see the lake in the morning. It was hard to say bye bye to Yosemite!! Anot...

We started for Yosemite around 8 and reached around 1, drive was very different. First we stopped at these street side fruit shop which was surrounded by almond trees. We picked some and ate, this was mind blowing. We bought lot of stuff from there. Before entering Yosemite we stopped at Tanuga Lodge for lunch, another amazing place. Food was fresh and yummy with pool view. Kids has nice play area so they played there. Also there was small stream where we stayed for a while. After reaching Yosemite we decided to stop on river beach and our first stop was simply beautiful with so clean river and huge granite mountains! Jai jumped many times off of the cliff on river and we did river walk .  It was time to checkin to our tent. It was very neat and clean with all the necessary facilities.  We kept our stuff there and went to ate pizza since that was only option available after 6. Smores pizza was something different!! We were tired from bike ride so we decided to take it easy today. Woke up late and then visited facebook, google and apple store.  Tesla driving was fun for Shri!! At Apple, 1 Infinite loop :) Went to target to get snacks for Yosemite trip and gift for Abhinav. Came home and ate yummy began sabji made by Mansi. I also made lemonade from yard lemon, it was very fresh and tasty.  It was vacation start for Mansi-Akhi so in the evening we went to Santa Cruz and some part of rt-1. It was very beautiful evening! After cliff walks, they took to this very very different restaurant where you get super spicy sea food, so yummy!! Its hard to get spot there but Mansi managed to get last spot. You buy food only in pounds and eat on table without plates :) Rice with very spicy fish was super duper yummy!! After eating so much we went to pick van for tomorrows trip to Yosemite. Day started with cute cats Mira, Pillu and Chiku. Pillu loves Ram and Jai a lot and played so much. Kids loved him too. Shri also enjoyed with them. Today our plan was visiting SFO with Pushpal and Sybille. Sybille made delicious waffles and then we headed to SFO near Golden gate bridge to rent bikes.  We got perfect free parking and started our ride towards Golden Gate bridge. We were super excited!! Before heading to bridge we had a quick snack break trying SFO delicacies. Started the ride on very beautiful SFO street, houses are decorated with real flowers very creatively. Next patch was along the beach and then some uphill.  After uphill we were on golden gate bridge. It was super windy and our bikes were getting pushed. It was scary to look down at the water too.  We reached other side and stayed at the lookout for while and started back.  This time we were feeling better even if it was windy and stopped to look down, it was amazing!!  While coming stayed o...

This was our very unique amazing trip to California. It was great to hang out with friends for 10 days. It’s totally different world! Even if we were in USA felt like another planet and sometimes it gave a feel of Europe and India!! Trying to pen down most of the memories in this blog!! Day 1 story!! We started 5pm on Friday for 7:30 flight but flight was delayed by 2:30hrs so we explored the small airport. It was surprise to see two road brewery tap room which is our favorite beer! We both enjoyed the start of travel. Mansi, Akhi and Abhinav came to pick us up. Our first ride in Tesla!! It was amazing, felt like sitting in ghost car!LOL We kept talking till 4 and then went to GOOGLE office to drop the car for charging and GOOGLE quick peek! It was epic dawn :) We came home and slept till 8 and couldn't stop ourselves to go out for walk. It was so different than Connecticut, it was great to see all the fruit trees in every year. We ate a big breakfast and visited Emerald State park. Water was really emerald color and couldn't stop looking at the view of lake surrounded by mountains. We headed to the beach for kayaking. Kayaking in blue water was out of the world. Have done kayaking many times but this was very very different and exciting. We spend some time in white sand and headed for biking.  After biking ate dinner and headed back to Sunnyvale. Day 7

This was last day of our trip! This beautiful journey was coming to an End. We ate waffles for breakfast and made sables from grilled leftover. It turned out very yummy. Tea with this view was unbeatable!! We packed up and started towards Golden gate bridge. The other day bridge was covered with fog so wanted to check if its clear today. We drove back through sonoma valley and ice cream stop was must!Sonoma valley is as beautiful as Napa, road is along the river and have multiple pullover stops. Golden gate bride didn't have fog and found a perfect lookout! what else you want!! Last evening in California. If you visit SFO, you have to eat dim sum I read so we chose a dim sum restaurant for last dinner in California, khi-Mansi also joined us. It was lot of fun. Our flight was late so we went to Sunnyvale and then Akhi-Abhinav dropped us to airport at midnight. It was a memorable trip! Charismatic California
