Adventure Weekend

In May everyone in the neighborhood group discussed to go out together and decided to plan something in July.

Last year I came across this amazing place called Asuable Chasm and decided to visit this year. It was perfect to visit with group so started planning.

Found an amazing camp ground near chasm which was on Lake Champlain. It was hard to get a spot but we got one by one by constant check.

All the booking was done including rock climbing at chasm. After discussing with group only few were ready for rock climbing so I gave an option of classic tour or premium tour. Premium tour had adventure trail so 12 of us decided to do that and rest went for classic tour which has river trail and raft ride.

We were watching for weather closely since it was showing rain. The morning of travel it was just cloudy so we started in the afternoon. Priti and Sau also decided to join this trip.

We reached there around 7 and the party started.we set up tents and ate all the yummy food everyone got! Kids did s’mores and we all went to sleep. Before that we had hard time finding pots cleaning station and it was fun to wash everything on high placed tap.

We woke up early and ate heavy breakfast to head for our chasm tour. We reached 10 mins before the ticket booth opens to avoid the crowd.  I divided people in 2 groups.

In premium me, Shri and Murtaza were only 3 adults and rest kids. Group was nervous and excited. It took a while to start the trail since guide is assigned to a group. The time we spent along Asuable river was also beautiful! We took some pictures.

First we had to go through a rope climb and then second one was crossing river on single rope. After going on other side of river it was climbing on the side of river on rocks and then again cross a rope bridge. It was a zig zag ride. It was totally worth it! Very scary but amazing!

Raft ride was very short as compared to wait time of 90mins but it was beautiful through chasm.

We came back to camp site and went to beach. Made Maggie for kids and ate on the beach!

In the night got beer from local brewery and had Biryani with it! Ended day around fire!!

Morning woke up and went to take bath where saw beautiful morning sun and the serene lake with mountains, it was beyond words to describe environment! So blissful !!

Came back to camp and made upma for everyone and enjoyed it along fire!!

It was time to say bye to camping and enjoy the lake Champlain beach before saying final bye.

When we were on beach Murtaza was talking to a guy who was trying hard to learn paddle board and he offered him to try too.
Because of Murtaza we all got to do paddle board ride and ended the trip fun way. Jai, Simar and Sanju enjoyed the most by going in deep inside lake and then jumping in water and trying all sorts of tricks!

After that we ate lunch at this pizza place where food was very fresh. It was along Asuable river where we said final bye to each other and headed home.

The whole road was very beautiful with green mountains, some rain and fog.

It was a memorable trip!

Here are all the pictures!!

Canadian Rockies - Day 1 - Waking Up to the Magic of Canmore and the Rockies

After a late-night arrival at around 2 AM, we finally woke up to our first morning in the Canadian Rockies - and what a surprise it was! Since we had reached in the dark, we had no idea what surrounded us. When I stepped out onto the balcony, I was greeted by a breathtaking view - majestic mountains all around, their peaks kissed by the early morning light. It was one of those moments that instantly fills you with gratitude and excitement for the day ahead. We had masala tea, got ready, and decided to explore downtown Canmore. The streets were charming, lined with cozy cafés, boutiques, and local art shops - all against the stunning mountain backdrop. It felt like stepping into a postcard. For brunch, we stopped at an amazing Indian restaurant called Mumbai Local, and oh my goodness - the food was phenomenal! We ordered dahi puri, soya chaap, and triple schezwan fried rice, and everything was bursting with flavor. It felt like a comforting taste of home right in the middle of the Rocki...

Canadian Rockies - Day 2 - The Dream Day: Larch Valley Hike & Moraine Lake Magic

We started our second day in the Canadian Rockies with our little tradition — a steaming cup of masala tea. There’s nothing like that comforting aroma to kick off an adventurous morning. While sipping our tea, we had a great chat with our wonderful host, Jeremy -  a biker, traveler, and author of two books. He’s been around the world on his bike, and listening to his stories was truly inspiring. After breakfast, it was time for one of the most anticipated parts of our trip - the Larch Valley hike and visiting my dream destination, Moraine Lake! We grabbed some Subway sandwiches from Banff downtown to fuel up later on the trail and then headed toward Moraine Lake by shuttle. We started the hike around 12:30 PM, and wow — it was steep and challenging right from the beginning. But every step upward brought more breathtaking views of Moraine Lake below. The turquoise water kept peeking through the trees as we climbed higher and higher. As we gained elevation, the larches turned gold...

Canadian Rockies - Day 0 – Arrival in Calgary

Saturday morning finally arrived — the day I’d been waiting for so long! My big-time bucket list adventure to see the snow-capped mountains, turquoise blue lakes, and breathtaking hikes of the Canadian Rockies was about to begin. We woke up excited and buzzing with energy. I wrapped up the packing, made some food for the kids, and after a quick meal, we were ready to roll. By 2 PM, we were off to the airport from Boston. Everything went so smoothly — hardly any crowds, we were among the first ones to check in, and soon we were relaxing in the lounge before boarding. The flight itself was peaceful. The Wi-Fi worked surprisingly well, so we caught up on some browsing before drifting off to sleep midair, dreaming of mountains and alpine lakes. We landed around midnight, and after picking up our luggage, we headed to the car rental counter. The lady there was super nice — she even shared some great local tips on restaurants and must-visit spots. To top it off, she handed us the keys to a b...
